Lonely Lonely Airport

Changi International Airport – Supposed to be one of the world’s busiest and best airport. Together with Singapore Airlines, supposed to be the pride of my country. But COVID-19, travel restriction globally and closure of many air routes had brought our aviation to a standstill.

Before we married, my wife and I would frequently meet up at a coffee shop at Terminal 3 to discuss and plan our overseas trip. And every time we meet here, I always have the urge to want to work at the airport. Probably because it always give me the nice sense of going overseas on trips.

Boarding a plane for an overseas trip always fill me with anticipation, excitement and happiness, especially to be away from work and experiencing something different. While at the viewing gallery looking at the SIA planes stowed and parked, I keep thinking with nostalgia of the scenes where I am will walk through the bridge into the entrance of the plane, with the air stewardess there to greet us, the newspaper tray at the entrance and that particular scent of aircraft interior.

Lets hope things recover soon.

Nobody manning the counters.
Empty halls
6 Displays, but only 1 screen worth of departure flights.
Empty Terminal 3
The transit area is even worse.
Looks like an abandoned place…
Felt heavy hearted when I was at the viewing gallery looking at these planes stowed and parked.
